Description:

The IIC/I2C INTERFACE FOR 1602 LCD MODULE, such as our TA0170/TA020 require 7 IO pins to be driven from Arduino.

This interface when connected to the 1602 module only requires 2 IO pins, freeing up pins to be used with other modules.

I2C is a serial protocol for a two-wire interface to connect low-speed devices like microcontrollers, EEPROMs, A/D and D/A converters, I/O interfaces and other similar peripherals in embedded systems.

The initial I2C specifications defined a maximum clock frequency of 100 kHz.

Features:

  • Supply voltage: 2.5 – 6V
  • Support I2C protocol.
  • Backlight power control, you can set the jumper cap to connect the backlight power supply.
  • Plugin the jumper cap can connect the backlight power, unplug it can disconnect the backlight.
  • Contrast is adjustable, rotate blue potentiometer, clockwise to enhance, counterclockwise to weaken.
  • The potentiometer is designed in the front, which is convenient for customers to adjust freely.
  • Modules can be cascaded, up to 8 cascaded.
  • Modify the device address via short circuit A0 / A1 / A2. The default address is 0 x 27
  • For all standard 5V 16 Chars, 2 Lines and 20 Chars, 4 Lines LCD
  • PCF8574T Driver
  • Connector Pins: SDA / SCL / VCC / GND
  • Arduino-Library Liquid Crystal_I2C is available.
  • Size: 40mm x 18mm

Package included:  1x IIC/I2C INTERFACE FOR 1602 LCD MODULE NOTE (LCD screen not included)

Product Applications

This is another great IIC/I2C/TWI/SPI Serial Interface. As the pin resources of the Arduino controller is limited, your project may be not able to use a normal LCD shield after being connected with a certain quantity of sensors or SD card. However, with this I2C interface module, you will be able to realize data display via only 2 wires. If you already have I2C devices in your project, this LCD module actually cost no more resources at all. It is fantastic for Arduino based projects.
