LCD1602 16×2 3.3v Blue LCD Display is a 16-character by 2-line display that runs at 3.3V. Utilizes the common ST7066/HD44780 parallel interface

Specification:

  • 16-character x 2-line Blue LCD
  • 4-bit and 8-bit parallel interface
  • BACKLIGHT LED
  • VIEWING DIRECTION 6 o’clock
  • 3.3V operation
  • Module dimension: 80mm x 35mm x 9mm.
  • Viewing area size: 64.5mm x 16mm
Pin setup:
  • 1 pin: VVS is grounding power
  • 2 pin: VDD connect 5V/3V positive-supply
  • 3 pin: V0 is LCD contrast adjustment side, it is the weakest contrast when connecting positive-supply, and it is the highest contrast when connecting grounding power
  • 4 pin: RS is register choice, high levels choose data register, low levels choose Instruction register
  • 5 pin: R/W is Read/write signal wire; high levels choose reading operation, low levels choose writing operation. When RS and RW both are low level, you can write Instructions or show the address. You can read the signal when RS is low, and RW is high. On the contrary, you can write data.
  • 6 pin: E side is the power side. The LCD module executes the command when E is from the high to the low level.
  • 7-14 pin: D0-D7 are 8-bit double data wires.
  • 15 pin: backlight positive
  • 16 pin: backlight negative
