Q & A

GY-NEO8MV2 GPS With Ceramic Antenna is a low-cost yet powerful receiver based on the famous and high-end u-Blox Neo-8M module. It has a small battery for hot-starting and a built-in EEPROM. An external ceramic antenna connects to the board via a U.FL connector to offer better signal reception. Solid!

The best! It can operate from a 1.65V to 5V system, so all those 5V Arduino boards (CT-UNO, Maker-UNO, Arduino-UNO, Mega, Leonardo, and many more) and 3.3V controllers, including Arduino and Raspberry Pi, work perfectly with this GPS module. Though it is 5V compatible, you will need a proper level shifter to interface with the serial (UART) line; please use a proper level shifter.

Please note that it is not in the Arduino shield or Raspberry Pi HAT form factor. You will need manual wiring to interface with the controller board, which will be fun!

Features:
  • Ceramic antenna for solid signal
  • EEPROM for saving the configuration data when powered off
  • Backup battery
  • LED signal indicator
  • Applicable for Raspberry Pi and Arduino
  • It is compatible with various flight controller boards designed to work with GPS modules, such as APM2.0 and APM2.5.
