Description:

Bluetooth XBee Shield V03 ZigBee Module Bee Wireless Control for Arduino is a compact USB to serial adapter equipped with BEE (20pin 2.0mm) sockets. With integrated FT232RL IC, It can be used for programming or communicating with a board which a basic Arduino but without a USB interface, like Sniffer Nano. On the other hand, you may connect your PC to various wireless applications via the BEE compatible modules. The Adapter also could support the XBee interface.

Specification:
  • 3.3V and 5V dual power output
  • 3.3V and 5V IO compatible
  • USB 2.0 protocol
  • BitBang mode ready
  • Easily connected to a PC via mini USB cable
  • XBee-setting support software X-CTU
  • Usage 1: PC via a USB cable directly connected with XBee adapters
  • Usage 2: Bluetooth Bee configure or use as a data-transmission
  • Uses 3: ARDUINO BOARD PRO MINI Downloader
  • Size: 56mm x 55mm

This Bluetooth XBee Shield V03 ZigBee Module Bee Wireless Control for Arduino can achieve a simple two crunodal ZigBee network, achieve wireless communication over a modified ZigBee protocol using the popular XBee module. and allows this to wireless communicate over a modified ZigBee protocol using the popular XBee module. It is a fully Assembled shield without the XBee module. It works with all XBee modules including the Series 1 and Series 2.5, standard and Pro versions. Stackable design for easy plug into a development board. Coupled with Bluetooth Bee Bluetooth module, and other Bluetooth devices can communicate wirelessly. Coupled with the xbee module can communicate between two or more sets. Comes coupled with Arduino Bluetooth Bee Bluetooth module, and other Bluetooth devices to communicate wirelessly.

Zigbee is an IEEE 802.15.4-based specification for a suite of high-level communication protocols used to create personal area networks with small, low-power digital radios, such as for home automation, medical device data collection, and other low-power low-bandwidth needs, designed for small scale projects which need wireless connection. Hence, Zigbee is a low-power, low data rate, and close proximity (i.e., personal area) wireless ad hoc network.

The technology defined by the Zigbee specification is intended to be simpler and less expensive than other wireless personal area networks (WPANs), such as Bluetooth or more general wireless networking such as Wi-Fi. Applications include wireless light switches, home energy monitors, traffic management systems, and other consumer and industrial equipment that requires short-range low-rate wireless data transfer.

Its low power consumption limits transmission distances to 10–100 meters line-of-sight, depending on power output and environmental characteristics. Zigbee devices can transmit data over long distances by passing data through a mesh network of intermediate devices to reach more distant ones. Zigbee is typically used in low data rate applications that require long battery life and secure networking. (Zigbee networks are secured by 128-bit symmetric encryption keys.) Zigbee has a defined rate of 250 kbit/s, best suited for intermittent data transmissions from a sensor or input device.

Zigbee was conceived in 1998, standardized in 2003, and revised in 2006. The name refers to the waggle dance of honey bees after their return to the beehive.
