CJMCU-150 BMM150 Geomagnetic Sensor

CJMCU-150 BMM150 Geomagnetic Sensor Magnetometer Module Compass Breakout is a low-power and low-noise 3-axis digital geomagnetic sensor used in Ecompass applications.

BMM150 combines harmonically with an inertial measurement unit (IMU) consisting of a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope like Bosch Sensortec’s BMI055.

Using sensor data fusion software tailored to the hardware, the solution determines the absolute spatial orientation and motion vectors with high accuracy and dynamics.

A magnetometer is a device that measures a magnetic field or magnetic dipole moment. Different types of magnetometers measure a magnetic field’s direction, strength, or relative change at a particular location. A compass is one such device that measures the direction of an ambient magnetic field, in this case, the Earth’s magnetic field. Other magnetometers measure the magnetic dipole moment of a magnetic material, such as a ferromagnet, for example, by recording the effect of this magnetic dipole on the induced current in a coil.
