What is a triaxial accelerometer?
Triaxial accelerometers provide simultaneous measurements in three orthogonal directions to analyse all of the vibrations experienced by a structure. Each unit incorporates three separate sensing elements that are oriented at right angles concerning each other.
Uses of a gyroscope or accelerometer
The main difference between the two devices is simple: one can sense rotation, whereas the other cannot. Using the fundamental principles of angular momentum, the gyroscope helps indicate orientation. In comparison, the accelerometer measures linear acceleration based on vibration.
