GY-213V-HTU21D 3.3V Humidity & Temperature Sensor is a low-cost, easy-to-use, highly accurate digital humidity and temperature sensor.
This sensor is ideal for environmental sensing and data logging and perfect for weather stations or humidor control systems.
All you need is two lines for I2C communication, and you’ll have relative humidity readings and very accurate temperature readings as a bonus!
Only four pins need to be hooked up to start using this sensor in a project, one for VCC, one for GND, and two data lines for I2C communication.
This breakout board has built-in 4.7k pull-up resistors for I2C communications.
You may want to disable these resistors if you’re hooking up multiple I2C devices on the same bus.

Product Applications
- The Humidity and Temperature Sensor is an Arduino-compatible sensor board that carries an SHT21 digital humidity and temperature sensor from Sensirion. It has a 4-pin interface that can communicate directly with the analogue pins on the Arduino.
- The SHT21 utilizes a capacitive sensor element to measure humidity, while the temperature is measured by a band-gap sensor. Both sensors are seamlessly coupled to a 14-bit ADC, which then transmits digital data to the Arduino over the I2C protocol. Because of the sensor’s tiny size, it has incredibly low power consumption, making it suited for virtually any application.
- To optimize the accuracy of temperature and humidity readings, the SHT21 sensor is placed at the tip of the board, isolating it from heat-producing circuitry. Two of the sensor’s four pins are ground and +5V; the other two are clock and data pins that make up the 2-wire serial interface. The board is 5V tolerant and designed to operate directly off the supply voltage coming from the Arduino.
