0.96 Inch Blue I2C OLED LCD Module 4pin is an organic light-emitting diode (OLED or organic LED). Also known as organic electroluminescent (organic EL) diode, it is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. This organic layer is situated between two electrodes, and at least one of these electrodes is transparent.

- The OLED display is higher compared to that of LCD. 0.96 Inch Blue I2C OLED LCD Module 4pin works without a backlight in a dark environment. The Driver chip of this OLED is SSD1306, which is compatible with IIC or SPI communication. So this module can be controlled by SPI or I2C.
- There are two resistors at the back of the module and a sick-screen to remind you how to set the communication mode. The default mode is 4-wires SPI mode.
- Except for the VCC and GND, four wires would be needed when using four wires SPI mode.
- You can also set it to the I2C mode, where two control wires are needed.
- There is also a simple switch-cap charge pump that turns 5v into a high voltage drive for the OLEDs, making this module the easiest way to get an OLED into your project.
Notes:
1. There may be slight size deviations due to manual measurement, different measuring methods and tools.
2. The picture may not reflect the actual colour of the item because of different photographing light, angles and display monitor.
